I have an online Business which i have just started but unfortunately they pay you in U.S. Dollars does anyone know where it would be best to change this currency back to GBP. I can have the money sent to my bank or direct cheque but their charges can be quite high I have a pay pal account may be this is an option any Ideas
You can lodge the US$ into your PayPal account and keep them as US$.
Or you can open a US$ account and have the money paid into that directly. Trade in US$ or leave the money there until the exchange rates are more favorable.

I have Basil money (1000 BRL) and when I checked online to find out how much it is, it told me on every site that its 531-536 USD.
Can I go to any bank and trade this in for the 500 USD. Will they give me the actual amount or something close to it?
A major currency exchange like Travelex pays about 10-15% less than the internet rate quote and sells at 10-15% over the internet rate quote. Usually, only the biggest banks do foreign currency exchange. Check your local yellow pages under "Foreign Exchange" to find out which ones.
Travelex also charges a per-transaction commission, so you may wish to call first.
I am assuming you have current Brazilian Real banknotes. For other people reading this, Any Brazilian notes denominated in Cruzeiros or Cruzados are obsolete and no longer redeemable.

every where i look the exchange for american to chinese yuan is about .146 yuan to dollar. I go to the bank they tell be a rate of .1696 Why is there such a large discrepancy between bank and online converters?
will the same discrepancy be apparent when I convert back to the dollar?
Transactions costs…you wouldn’t be able to convert money without finding chinese bloke in need of dollars yourself unless the bank charged for the service. The posted rates are bulk rates that the forex market using for transactions in the millions of dollars. They usually charge aorund 3 to 5 cents a dollar to convert. The best rate you can get, is actually through atm machines because visa uses bulk conversion.

I purchased a visa ice gift card at the currency exchange. The instructions says to put in the address where the card was mailed to, but I purchased the card from the currency exchange. Do I use my address or the address that was on the paper that came with the card? I don’t want to make a mistake because I only have one time to put the address in right. Anyone can help? Thanks in advance.
You need to use your home mailing address and you need to register the card with the card issuer before you use it online. Click on the link below for instructions on how to do this, otherwise, your card may be rejected.

Hello, im from the u.k but i want to play roulette in a foreign currency online. asian/korean or something, anywhere thats secure and where i get a better exchange rate. Is this possible? i have looked but only find european/uk roulette. thanks alot Andy
MOSES— thanks for your reply. so you are saying no foreign countrys play roulette online? i have a stratergy that i cant lose on paper and want to test in real life now but i need to use a curency that allows bigger numbers. like £200 = 15000 won or something in korean. Cheers
MOSES— martingale is a fools tactic, i have seen 26reds before. no im slightly more advanced than that
i would share with you my idea in exchange for a foreign casino that i can play in their currency from home. pretty fair deal. but i would prefer emailing it to you personaly instead of here. thanks
i wouldent believe me either if i just read it. its not to do with the fact they convert money back.. i know that. it allows me to stay on the table longer if i have more units, therefore playing longer to make double the profit so that when i convert back i have won some. im not asking you to spend any money just if you find a casino then i will share my idea.. no harm in reading what i have as a stratergy? you can decide to use it after or not if you wish. Thanks Andy
You can try 32red Casino. They accept Yen.

For example " a book costs $22 online. The exchange rate is £1 to $1.46. How much is it in pounds? I need to work it out quickly using pen and paper. Is long division the quickest way?Dont tell me to go to a currency convertor on the net!! cheers for the help!
$1.46 => £1
$22 => 22/1.46 = 2200/146 = £15.07
Yes, I would say that long division is the best if you do not have a calculator on hand.
However, I generally approximate the value instead of obtaining the actual. I will approximate $1.50 => £1, so $3 => £2.
For a price of $22, on dividing this by 3, I can mentally get 7 1/3 and then I multiply this by 2 which will be 14 2/3 = £14.67 which is close enough for me to know the rough amount that I’ll be spending.

I need to order something from the UK. The company I’m ordering from mentioned that my cc company may charge a fee for the currency exchange. I’m also nervous about sending my cc info online. Can I go somewhere to get a money order or cashier check in GBPs? (Great Britain pounds)?? Please advise what the best way to do this transaction would be. Thanks.
Thanks Frank, that was really helpful. I must have been hungry when I typed that, I hadn’t had lunch yet lol.
sure, but i bet the fee would be outrageous.
credit card is best. your card does the exchange, not the company.
post the company name and address in YAHOO answers UK and ask if any knows if they are a real company.
any bank should be able to exchange currency.
and its "USD". "USDA" are the people who inspect food.

How much is the average cost that a bank will charge to exchange foreign currency into US currency? Do I have to go to a specialized bank or office that deals with this?
I know that the US dollar is flexible as to its value against some of the other foreign currencies such as the Euros and I am trying to figure out whether it would be to my best advantage and benefit to accept foreign currencies as payment for an online business I am considering.
I don’t travel outside of the US or plan to, but my thinking is that, perhaps, if I were to accept currencies such as Euros is that I will not only generate more online business, but maybe, in some cases, the value of the currency could be worth even more than the US dollar.
Any feedback or information would be appreciated.
The bank makes their money on the exchange rate they charge you versus the exchange rate they get. There are other companies that work in currency that give better rates than banks.
www.moneycorp. com is one.
