What exchange rate do Canadian credit cards use for US Currency?

I want to buy something from a US store online. Does the credit card company use the current exchange rate or do they have their own rate?

They use the current exchange rate on the date that your transaction is posted. Most credit cards also charge an additional 3% service fee on foreign exchange transactions.

    exchange rate +3% convince fee (betting it does not even cost them anything to do such but they try and make any money they can off of you)
